My name is Jim Thornton, and I am Vice President and Music Director for Hullbridge Christian Spiritualist Church in Essex. I currently provide spiritual ballads and hymns, live, for our church services, psychic teas and clairvoyance evenings, using the wonderful sounds of the top-of-the-range Technics and Yamaha keyboards. I also play a variety of other styles, like ballroom and latin American dance music, swing, Christmas Songs, and songs of remembrance (Glenn Millar era).
Have you noticed how music can really lift the mood and raise the vibration at any gathering of people? This is because everything in life is a vibration, or an energy. Music is an audible vibration, which, if it is higher than the vibration of the listener, will lift the vibration of the listener to match it. Music expresses moods and feelings through its vibration and impresses these too upon the listener.
What event do you know that would benefit from live music to lift the vibration and create a warm, inviting ambiance?
For church services, live music really gets people singing. I have a number of hymns in my repertoire. Please view the list below for the latest, although others may be added on request.
For clairvoyance evenings, live music really helps raise the vibration as people enter, and during the interval. Often non-religious songs are preferred, so I have a range of popular ballads, like ‘Angels’, and ‘My Heart Will Go On’.
For social evenings, I have some pleasant backgr
ound music as well as some dance numbers, waltzes, foxtrots, rumbas, cha-chas, quicksteps, jives, including some big band swing.
For Christmas services or socials, I have a range of Christmas songs to provide festive background music, and some Christmas carols to sing to.
